Debussy was born in France. He was the oldest of five children. His family had little money.
He began taking lessons at the age of 7. His aunt payed for it. By the age of 10, he entered the Paris Conservatory. He created a new music style!
Debussy was also strongly affected by the ART he saw
at the Paris World Exposition of 1889.
We call this period: IMPRESSIONISM.
He was 55 when he died. He had cancer disease.
